Kipfer-Logistik History
In 1983 CEO Beat Kipfer founded the company “Kipfer Internationale Transporte”. The company started business as a forwarding agent with only one semi. The company grew steadily and was transformed into a “Limited Liability Company – LLC” in 2003. In the same year GPRS-tracked, temperature-controlled transports throughout Europe were conducted for customers from Switzerland. In 2008, the ISO 9001:2008 certification and SQAS assessments were conducted successfully.
In 2009 Beat Kipfer started the cooperation with the logistics company Frigo-Trans GmbH located in Germany. In 2012 Kipfer Internationale Transporte transformed into the Swiss location of the Frigo-Trans Group und changed its name to “Frigo-Trans Schweiz GmbH”. The integration of knowledge and expertise formed a solid foundation for long-term growth. Due to the merger, the company’s service portfolio could be aligned even more precisely with pharma industry requirements.
In 2014, Beat Kipfer became an active member of TAPA. In 2012 the company became the first logistics service provider to successfully complete the TAPA certification.
In the summer of 2020, despite the inconvenience caused by Corona, the company was again completely separated from Frigo Trans Deutschland and renamed Kipfer Logistik GmbH. In the course of this, Kipfer Logistik GmbH was also certified to the highest TAPA level 1, ISO 9001:2015 and GDP and received the SQAS certificate.
As an entrepreneur, Beat Kipfer sees it as his essential task to seek the best solutions for optimal service and communication towards customers. In May 2020, this aspiration led Beat Kipfer to buy back his Frigo-Trans shares, that were sold in 2012. In the future, Beat Kipfer, as owner and CEO, together with his team will offer the service portfolio Europe-wide under the name «Kipfer-Logistik».
WHAT HAS CHANGED FOR OUR CUSTOMERS?
In short, good and proven becomes even more reliable and communication even more direct. Beat Kipfer and his team are looking forward to continue to deliver logistics competence. Knowledge and competency that has constantly developed since the founding in 1983.
As of July 2020 Kipfer-Logistik is certified according to the current TAPA TSR1 2020.
Further Milestones
An important milestone was set in 2014 with the TAPA TSR certification. Transport security is essential in pharma logistics and with this certification highest quality requirements are fulfilled. In 2016, the GDP certification was completed successfully. This rounds off the overall quality profile of the Swiss logistics company.
In May 2019, we opened a separate warehouse in addition to the core transport business. Over 3,500 square meters offer safe storage of temperature-sensitive goods and products. The new location utilises modern infrastructure and offers storage possibilities in all pharma-relevant temperature zones. This location also meets GDP, GSP and HMG guidelines as well as WHO regulations.
Pharma logistics center
The Kipfer-Logistik Pharma Logistics Center opens in Münchenstein (Baselland) on 01.01.2025.
